WE DID IT!!
Saturday May 29th, we completed the 90th day of P90x, finishing with my favorite workout KenpoX. Chris had come into town (in High Point, NC) late the night before, so we didnt get started until around 2pm (a late workout on Sat. for us!). My mother and brother Henderson decided to join us, so the four of us squished in the master bedroom of my parent's house for the last hoorah! We were all pretty tired and sweaty afterwards, but hugged and high-fived, then celebrated with a cookout that night at a friend's house! We are proud of ourselves and so thankful for the support and encouragement of those around us.
We dont know our next endeavor yet. Right now I want to take the extra time that P90x did to work on studying for my board exam and applying for jobs, but will be maintaining a 3-4 day workout regimen as outlined for P90x grads!
Im thinking about taking an endeavor and doing INSANITY next, but more on this at a later time :)
Please dont hesitate to ask questions about the workout or food guide we followed! We would love to encourage you all now too. We hope to have our pics up soon!

P90X in NC
So, if you havent heard, Im in NC for 5 weeks on a rotation in general surgery while Chris had to stay behind for work! This is the LAST week of the 90 day program and Ive been doing well since being away from Chris. Its not easy to stay accountable away from each other though!
My mom did yoga with me last week and was SO sore afterwards. My sister did Cardio with me and was like "this is HARD!" Haha I guess that feels good to know Im not crazy when I feel its kicking my butt! It also reinforces how far I have come since I complete them now!
I will write when we are finished on Saturday! Please pray for us as we are apart :(

Vacation and Detour (of sorts)!
On Sat. May 9th we packed up and headed south early in the am. We arrived in Destin beach by mid afternoon and first thing did our P90X kenpo workout! Yes, we packed up our mats and bands for our 4 workouts that would be required during our va-cay!
We had a WONDERFUL vacation: getting tans, reading, swimming, sleeping, people watching, and EATING. Ah, theres the rub. Although we did complete all our workouts while there, we ate lots more than what our usual calorie intake is on P90x. (including continental breakfasts, a night at an all you can eat sushi/hibachi restaurant, and Shakes frozen custard [which should be a sin its so good haha]), but all in all we are proud of ourselves. We started this program knowing that we wanted to do the full 90 days and commit our best to it. We felt that for the money we were paying to go to the beach and how little vacations we get, it was a good compromise to our commitment to take a little "diet detour". (especially since food is what I tend to enjoy most in new places)
We came back to Nashville yesterday and now are at HOME SWEET HOME. We are getting back on track today with the diet plan, and although we are doing yoga tonight as our workout. I completed 45 minutes of plyometrics (the most intense cardio) workout this morning since I am still on break and felt like my body needed that kick start after all that food :)
Hope this post finds all the readers well. I felt that to share with you life's detours and realities is a good part of coming to terms with listening to your own body's health as well as its desire for a little "R&R" :) during the P90x process.
If you have and questions or comments, or are wondering about doing the program yourself, please feel free to reply!
Love you all, God bless,

Week 10 and almost BEACH BODY ready!
Today we just started our 1oth week! I have taken pictures at the 0,30, and 60 day mark. Let me tell you...results are REAL, and I know that neither Chris nor I was so big to begin with but there is definitely a difference! We have been slack on our diet more lately in the sense that we have had more events and dinners where we have eaten out without knowing the exact caloric content. On the otherhand, I think we are both much more conscious of our choices (I think Chris especially feels this way!). Thanks to all those that have been encouraging. It really does help!!
We will be going to Destin this weekend for my spring break and get to show off the bods! (so maybe you will see a glimpse on facebook pictures later on... :)
I am already thinking about my next endeavor. Maybe Insanity??? Its a 60 day program even CRAZIER than P90x...sounds ridiculous I know but its great to see what the body is capable of and Im actually enjoying it!!
On a more somber note, please keep Nashvillians and Middle Tennesseans in your prayers! There is a lot of devastated families from lost history, homes, pets, friends, and jobs. I myself will not have a job for a little bit which puts a little more strain on the hubby, so be thinking of us, although this is minor compared to the tragedy of many!

Soo...its been a while. Chris and I are more than halfway through! We just finished our 7th week, which means next week is an "easy week"...ha! Tell that to us after 1 1/2 hours of yoga the first day! Anyway, we are really seeing some results! Chris is still making fun of my huge calves, but that is ok! He has really starting seeing differences in his biceps and abs...me too :) ! Our pool just opened here at the Park at Melrose (yeah super early), but we will be excited to go out there soon. That will be when we finally find some time! Thanks for all the encouragement so far, and please continue the good words! It definitely helps!
On another note, we found some time to have a "date day" today! We started off with my FAV workout, Kenpo X. Then, we headed down to Franklin, TN to check out some of the historic downtown stores. We had lunch at "Nachos" and enjoyed some great Mexican food. Afterwards, we went to the Carter House on Columbia Pike. It was a historic and pivotal spot during the Battle of Franklin in the Civil War. We spent about 2-3 hours on a guided tour and looking around. I would highly encourage it! Then, I made us some garlic, chive, and cream chz stuffed chicken with a side of steamed and herbed new potatoes. YUM! We finished our date day off with "Date Night" the movie with Steve Carrell and Tina Fey. HILARIOUS of course, and full of action as well. Also, highly recommended.
Tomorrow we are attending Kristen Hansen and Ed Hardin's wedding! Our "diet regimen" may take a break for the day, which means the elliptical will see me more this week in addition to the regular workouts, haha...more on that later.
Love you all!

Finish of first 30 days!!
So we have now finished the first 30 days of P90X (and just started our 5th week Monday)! The last week was glorious! Mostly low key exercises, and we got to splurge last Monday b/c we had our anniversary dinner at The Acorn here in Nashville. It took us an hour of sitting and talking between our meal and dessert because we were so full! I guess our caloric intake decrease has shrunken our stomachs literally! Last Friday night we went to a bar for the basketball games and saw a few undergrad friends. One commented to me about how buff Chris looked since the last time (we had not mentioned P90X!) I thought that was just great and really means that our results are starting to show.
I think the daily exercises are becoming pretty routine and not as difficult, but I know the food restriction has really been hard for me :( I stick to a pretty good routine in the day, but my sweet-tooth always comes raging after dinner! Ive done pretty well, but havent been as far below my calorie max as I was the first 2-3 weeks. So I havent lost more weight, but thats ok, cause Im still toning and that is the focus!
Chris' biceps and abs are really coming along the most! We realized my calves are HUGE...although I think this is is partially genetic...but its really funny so Ill show you what I mean if you ask :) Hopefully you all are keeping encouraged that are doing the program or any other type of fitness plan!
We are going to my home this weekend for Easter break at the LAKE! I think this will be the true test of change...my parents notice these types of things! We will keep you updated again soon!

Another week down!
Completion of week 2 is complete!!
We just finished our last workout of week 2 together. It was KenpoX! It is an hour of crazy boxing, tae-bo, kickboxing moves and such. It is my favorite, and chris hates it. (go figure right?) It takes a little getting used to and practice because the moves can be confusing.
I think we each have lost about another pound this week. We are happy with that, especially since our goal is to tone and we are definitely starting to see those results!
To all of you doing the program with us, KEEP IT UP! Its tough really counting calories and not eating before bed, but it is SO worth it. Creating good habits now will get our bodies used to it for the future.
For now, we are excited to have the rest of the weekend off, and go to our friends Jonathan and Sarah's wedding tonight! (buffet style reception = limiting our trips and portions!) I have a feeling we wont be much fun out on the dance floor after our hardcore leg workout yesterday :/
haha
Yall have a great weekend and we will keep you updated!

1 week down, 3 pounds lighter
Chris and I finished our first week today! The workout yesterday, legs and back, has left us very sore. Today we had KenpoX which is like kickboxing/karate. I thought it was fun, but its hard to learn the moves at first, so I dont know if Chris is a big fan yet. We both thought it would be nice to get on the scales today and see what the scales said. Each of us shed about 3 pounds! That said, we arent really in this thing for "weight loss," although I'm sure it's inevitable with all the toning and training! Tomorrow is our day off and we are going out to eat Mexican. We will still watch our calories, but a little more loosely for the day ;)
Please keep us in your prayers and continue to encourage us! This will be a long journey, but one we really want to finish as strong as we started! Love you all!

Just finished day 4! Today was YOGA X for 1.5 hours! the first part was hard, all the poses...my body just DOESNT move that way! But the stretching aspects were really nice. Chris and I have been following our calorie max every day, and actually not even meeting the maximum, which is good right now, as we can drop some fat while we build muscle. I think the hardest part for both of us is definitely not eating the last 3 hours before bed. Its weird to go to sleep on an empty stomach, but I know its a good thing...and what better time to be hungry besides when you are asleep right?? I have been drinking at least 2L of water a day...which is 68 ounces...so I have become "that girl" that always has to pee! The good thing is, it keeps me feeling full and makes my skin look great! Hopefully Chris will have something to post later after his experience with Yoga tonight! Keep looking for an update :)

Day 1. Success!
I am typing again tonight since Chris' first day was an all arms workout! He can barely move his fingers :) He is keeping track of all the repetitions he does of the push-ups and pull-ups, and looks forward to improving each week! I did well today, it was a a core work-out called "core synergistics". I have done it before, so I am not too sore yet, but lets just wait until the next fews days are piled on!!
Our calorie counting plan is going well too. I think the hardest thing will be to QUIT eating 3 hours before bedtime! That is really challenging even the first day, but I think after a few days, it will become a new habit! :)
Keep you all updated!

Embarking on a new adventure!
Chris and I are starting the 90 workout program "P90X" tomorrow, March 1st. We have done these workouts before, but never to the 6-day-a week, calorie counting extent we will be starting. We know first hand how hard the workouts will be, but are excited to see the results! We are starting a blog to keep everyone updated on the process, and to hold ourselves accountable to finish what we begin! We will try to update the blog a few times weekly to fill you in on our progress. At some point, we will be posting pictures of our progress along the way! We hope this blog inspires you!! :)
We love you all!
